Special Occasions Abroad:

There’s something about getting away for a special occasion that just
hits different. The pace, the perspective, the permission to slow down
— it all feels a little more meaningful when you’re far from your to-do
list.
For our 10-year anniversary, we didn’t want a party. We didn’t want an
itinerary packed with back-to-back tours. We wanted space. And sun.
And a destination that felt far enough away to escape routine but close
enough to reach without needing five layovers and a prayer. St. Kitts
delivered all of that and more.
Just under five hours from Houston, the island gave us what we were
really after: stillness. A slower pace. Beachy, barefoot mornings and
quiet, unhurried dinners. We stayed at the Park Hyatt St. Kitts —
which, to put it simply, felt like a dream you don’t want to wake up
from. Ocean views. Warm, attentive service. Breakfasts that stretch
into lunch. A dress I wore three times and still felt good in. (More on
that later.)
Because some milestones
deserve a passport stamp

One of the most memorable nights on the island
was a sunset sailing trip to Nevis with Aquamax
Adventures. The breeze, the view of the mountains,
the sound of the waves… it was one of those
evenings you hope your brain remembers in detail
twenty years from now.
I wore the Wrap Me Up Dress in Black, and
honestly, it felt like the only option. I didn’t overthink
it. Just slipped it on, added earrings and a soft lip,
and sandals I could slip off as soon as we stepped
on the beach. It’s the kind of dress that doesn’t try
too hard — it holds the moment without
overpowering it. Effortless, a little romantic, and
exactly what I wanted to be wearing as we toasted
ten years together under the stars.

How I wore it

One of the most meaningful days of our trip came
from a decision we almost didn’t plan. We met our
driver at the airport, and a few days later, he was
showing us his island — Brimstone Hill Fortress
National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site with
sweeping ocean views and quiet coastal roads. He
shared stories and memories that turned a simple
tour into something we’ll never forget.
It was the kind of day that called for something
effortless but put-together, and I’m so glad I packed
our Flight Jumpsuit in Light Khaki. The relaxed fit
kept me cool and polished, and I didn’t think about
my outfit once — which is exactly the point when
you’re climbing steps, listening to stories, and
taking it all in.
What made St. Kitts feel extra special wasn’t just
the scenery, it was the pace. It’s not crowded or
chaotic — it invites you to slow down. To breathe a
little deeper. And to remember why you came in the
first place.

One of the things we loved most about St. Kitts was how easy it was to slow down. No alarms, no rush — just soft starts to the day that stretched into the afternoon. One morning, we lingered over coffee for so long we didn’t leave the resort until well past lunch. And honestly? It felt like a luxury. I kept reaching for the Paperchic Pants in Desert Tan. They worked with everything — a swimsuit top and slides in the morning, a breezy button-down when we finally wandered into town. Lightweight, effortless, and quietly polished, they matched the mood: easy, present, and exactly where we wanted to be. Just like the island itself, they reminded me that sometimes the most memorable moments are the ones you never planned.

We didn’t set out to make a big statement with this trip. There was no packed agenda, no elaborate plan. What we wanted was something simple but meaningful — the kind of space that invites you to slow down, look around, and take stock of where you’ve been and where you’re going. St. Kitts offered all of that, and more. It’s amazing how different everything feels when you step outside of your daily routine. Meals feel more intentional. Conversations stretch longer. Time itself seems to open up. We had slow mornings that led to spontaneous afternoons. History that met us at the top of a fortress. Sunsets that reminded us just how far we’ve come — and how much more we have to look forward to. What made this anniversary so memorable wasn’t just the island’s beauty (though it’s stunning), it was the pace. The permission to breathe. To sit still. To move through the day without rushing. There’s a certain kind of closeness that comes when you both get to just be — not crossing things off a list, but experiencing something new together.
And yes — the pieces we packed mattered, too. Not because we were dressing up for anyone, but because they gave us one less thing to think about. The right outfits can anchor a memory just like a view or a scent. You remember how you felt, what you wore, and who you were with. That’s the magic. So if you're celebrating something soon — whether it’s ten years, a milestone birthday, or just the chance to reconnect — we can't recommend it enough: go somewhere that makes you pause. A few tips to help you plan your own special getaway: ✓ Choose a hotel or resort that feels like a treat — something just a little outside your norm. You deserve it. ✓ Hire a local guide or driver — someone who can help you see the place beyond the resort walls. The stories they share might just become your favorite part. ✓ Don’t overschedule. Leave room for slow breakfasts, spontaneous beach walks, and midday naps. Because slow travel? That’s the real luxury. And if you need a few ideas for what to bring — you know where to find us.

”I originally got this vest for travel, but now I even wear it to work. My favorite part is its versatility—it's such a unique and stylish piece!” Vanessa W.
versatile & work ready
"IPacked this dress on my trip to Italy and it was great. I worn it 2 - 3 times on the trip and was able to make it look different with accessories each time. I wish it was slightly shorter since I am more petite. Not a deal breaker and I can easily get it hemmed for the next trip.” Mandy S.
