5 Beauty
Products I’ll
Never Travel
Without

Jet lag, who?

I used to pack five lipsticks, two highlighters, and a “just-in-case”
eyeshadow palette… and still somehow forget sunscreen. The older
I get (and the more I travel), the more I’ve realized I don’t want to
carry a full glam routine across time zones. I just want the things
that work and that are high quality.

The staples I can swipe on in a hotel mirror with bad lighting and still
feel like myself. The ones that hold up after a long-haul flight, a
wrong turn on cobblestone streets, or a packed itinerary that leaves
zero room for touch-ups. These five are it.

They live in my dopp kit. They’ve been in my carry-on for Tokyo,
Tulum, Positano, and probably wherever I’m going to next. Let’s get
into them.

The Tiny Beauty MVPs that
Survive Every Time Zone

I used to dread reapplying sunscreen—until I
found this stick. I first used it on a food tour in
Lisbon where I wasn’t about to pause for a
greasy lotion moment. It glides on without
ruining your makeup, without getting on your
hands, and without the drama. Genius.

How I use it: I swipe it on at the airport,

before stepping out for wine on the terrace,

or anytime I feel the sun being a little

too friendly.

$32.00

If this dry shampoo had a passport, it would
be stamped from here to Tokyo. I’ve used it in
bathroom stalls, backseats of taxis, and once,
in the dark while camping. It works. No

chalky residue, no weird texture—just fresh,
clean hair when your itinerary doesn’t include
a blowout.

How I use it: Day two, day four, post-red

eye, or pre-rooftop drinks—this is my lazy
girl’s miracle.

Dry Shampoo

$16.00

I used to think hair oil was optional. Then I started waking up to that dry, fluffy triangle situation after long flights, and now it’s one of the first things I pack. Ouai’s Hair Oil is lightweight but does the most — smoothing flyaways, adding shine, and helping my ends recover from sun, plane air, and bad hotel blow dryers. It never feels greasy, and one little bottle lasts forever. It’s my “I didn’t have time to do my hair” insurance policy. How I use it: Rub a little through the ends, slick back a bun, or tame flyaways before photos—instant upgrade.

3. Ouai - Hair oil

Hair Oil

$30.00

After long travel days, my skin always needs a little TLC. This creamy cleanser gets it. It’s gentle, smells like a spa, and doesn’t leave my face tight or dry—just fresh and soft, like I actually slept 8 hours and drank water on the flight. How I use it: Every night on the road. Sometimes twice. It’s my reset button in cleanser form.

4: Tatcha - The Rice Wash

Cream Cleanser

$18.00

I wear this on travel days when I want to feel like me. It’s light, a little playful, and oddly grounding. People always ask what I’m wearing. Bonus: It doesn’t overpower in small spaces (looking at you, window seat). How I use it: Pulse points before the plane. A touch before dinner. A spritz when I need to feel pulled together.

5. Jo Malone - Earl Grey & Cucumber Cologne

From wheels up to check-in: here’s how I stay cute.

There’s something about your travel beauty bag—it tells on you. Mine says: “She’s got places to be but still wants to feel like herself while getting there.” It’s the little rituals, the spritz of cologne before boarding, the dry shampoo fix after 14 hours in the air, the SPF swipe before the café patio. These five products? They’ve earned their frequent flyer miles. They let me show up—jet lagged or not—as the version of myself that still feels fresh, a little glowy, and like I maybe do have my life together. If you’re someone who packs two pairs of shoes but five lip products, welcome. You’re in the right place!

Love for Foreign Fare

“I love the thoughtful details of this jacket—like the chic double zipper, thumb holes, and convenient pockets. The fabric is incredibly soft and feels great on. I’m petite, so the sleeves are a bit long on me, but not in a way that’s too noticeable. I am usually a S and maybe an XS would fit better.” Vanessa W.

Soft & Smart

“I LOVE the hideaway hoodie! It’s become my travel staple. I love having a place for my passport, AirPods and phone. Makes traveling with kids a breeze.” Crystal M.

Mom Mode: Activated

“Packed this dress on my trip to Italy and it was great. I worn it 2 - 3 times on the trip and was able to make it look different with accessories each time. I wish it was slightly shorter since I am more petite. Not a deal breaker and I can easily get it hemmed for the next trip.” Mandy S.
